AI & Companion Disclosure
Clear boundaries for using the Biblical Companion thoughtfully — and how we use AI elsewhere on the site.
Last updated: 21 October 2026
What it is
The Biblical Companion is AI-based software configured to help you slow down, clarify a situation, consider relevant Scripture and work toward a faithful next step. It runs inside ChatGPT, a service provided by OpenAI, and is set up with the LIVE NOW WELL framework and a conservative evangelical Biblical lens.
What it is not
It is not human, spiritually authoritative or conscious. It is not a pastor, a counsellor, a doctor or a substitute for Scripture, prayer, a local church, qualified healthcare or appropriate professional support. It can make mistakes, and it can sound confident when it is wrong.
Prayer and spiritual claims
The Companion may help you prepare words you may pray or adapt. It must not claim that it prays, worships, hears from God, discerns spiritually or has a relationship with God. If it ever does, please tell us at support@biblically-live-now-well.com.
Use judgment
- Check important claims against Scripture in context.
- Bring significant decisions to trusted, qualified people and your local church.
- Don’t enter information you would not want processed by OpenAI — for example other people’s private details.
Your conversations and your data
Your Companion conversations take place in your own ChatGPT account and are stored by OpenAI under its terms and privacy policy. We cannot see them. If you connect ChatGPT to your membership, it only asks our website for what each request needs, such as a prompt or guidance document. See our Privacy Policy.
How else we use AI
Where | How AI is used | Human check |
|---|---|---|
Articles, blog posts and news | Some may be drafted with AI assistance. These are labelled “Written with AI assistance” and carry a short note. | Always reviewed and approved by a named person before publishing |
Image descriptions (alt text) | An open-source model running on our own server may suggest a description for screen-reader users. | A person checks and edits every suggestion |
Prompts in the Prompt Library | Written by our team to use with the Companion. | Written by people |
Pathways, books and teaching | Written by the LIVE NOW WELL team. | Written by people |
Urgent situations
If you or another person may be in danger, contact local emergency services now. Do not rely on the Companion for emergency response. Reach out to qualified healthcare, pastoral care and trusted people nearby.
