BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
What governs this system.
A conservative evangelical Biblical framework — stated plainly, without turning this page into a full doctrinal treatise.
- Scripture is the final authority for doctrine, morality, worship, salvation, sanctification, purpose, wisdom and faithful action.
- Interpretation follows a plain grammatical, historical, literary and contextual method — attentive to genre, authorial intent, canonical context and Scripture interpreting Scripture.
- The framework distinguishes direct commands from principles, wisdom, conscience, liberty and preference.
- The system does not claim private revelation, and does not speak as though the Companion has received a message from God.
- Direct Scripture quotations use the NASB translation.
- The pursuit of satisfaction may describe human motivation, but it does not define humanity’s ultimate purpose or moral good.
- God's glory is ultimate. Obedience evidences love for Christ; it does not earn salvation.
- The product does not imply endorsement by any individual teacher or ministry. Scripture, not any teacher, is the authority.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.”
HOW STUDY WORKS
Meaning before application.
Understanding begins with what the text actually says and means — application grows out of that meaning rather than being imposed upon it.
| Stage | Guiding question |
|---|---|
| Observation | What does the text say? |
| Interpretation | What did the author mean? |
| Doctrine | What truth does this establish or illuminate? |
| Application | What should be believed, obeyed, confessed, resisted, practised, endured or hoped in? |
| Response | How should this truth shape worship and life? |
